We opened our first restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California in 1979.
What are the minimum financial requirements to qualify?
$200,000 liquid cash, $750,000 net worth
Do I receive training by California Crisp Café?
Yes, all franchisees must attend and successfully complete the training program established by California Crisp Café at one of our corporate training restaurants.
What is the term of my franchise agreement?
The California Crisp Café franchise agreement is for 10 years plus two five year extensions.
Can I build one restaurant or do I have to commit to several restaurants?
Either, we offer both single and multi store agreements.
How am I involved in the development and construction process?
We will guide and support you through the entire process but you will select the general contractor to build out your restaurant. This will help you to control your build out cost.
What is the availability of sites in my area?
The availability of sites in specific areas will be discussed during your initial interview. We have a real estate team with relationships and knowledge to assist your development. California Crisp Café cannot predict which locations will be available when the requirement process is complete.
What is the typical store size?
2,000 sq.. ft. - inline
600-800 sq. ft. - food court
How is my store site selected?
You will work with your local broker to find a site that fits within our demographic requirements
Where may I locate my California Crisp Café restaurant?
You may choose where you wish to locate, so long as your location meets California Crisp Café’s site and demographic criteria and does not infringe on any other California Crisp Café restaurant.
Who signs the lease agreement?
You sign your landlord's lease agreement
Does California Crisp Café provide financing for restaurant development?
We do not provide in-house financing but we do have a network of established lenders that provide very competitive terms and rates for qualified individuals.
What are the fees for a California Crisp Café?
• Development Fee - $10,000
• Franchise Fee - $30,000 (includes Development Fee)
• Royalty Fee – 5% of gross sales
• Advertising Fee- .5% for the National Advertising Fund and 2-3% for Local Advertising
What kind of profit can I expect from my California Crisp Café?
We are unable to make earnings claims. The amount of profit or loss is dependent on a number of factors including the ability of the franchisee to manage the business, drive sales volume, and manage operating costs.
What about advertising?
Building name recognition is an essential ongoing objective that benefits everyone. For this purpose, each franchisee contributes .5% of gross sales into the National Advertising Fund. In addition, franchisees are required to contribute 2-3% towards Local Advertising.
Must I buy my equipment and supplies from you?
No. Items necessary for operation of your business may be purchased from franchisor approved manufacturers, suppliers and/or distributors.
Do I receive guidance on the purchase of inventory and supplies?
Yes. Our Operations Department evaluates suppliers based on their ability to provide products that equal or exceed our specifications and standards, and recommends these sources for your use.
Who decides what prices I will charge for products and services?
You do set all your own pricing for products and services.
Can I sell my California Crisp Café?
Yes you can sell your California Crisp Café to an approved buyer. There is a transfer fee for administrative, legal, and other expenses to complete the transfer.
